PVS is having a proven self designed curriculum which provides the essentials of academic, social and physical skills that the child needs to face the challenging world. A positive, safe, nurturing environment enhances learning by establishing and maintaining a high level of academic and behavioural expectations. Our curriculum concerns itself with the overall development of the child. While encouraging positive individual characteristics, it promotes student responsibility, co-operation, creativity and respect for individuality and equality. PVS students will not only have high academic standards, but high behavioural standards as well.

PVS will follow curriculum prescribed by the CBSE Board.

Unique Pedagogy
Morning Session where academics are taught through Play Way method and Afternoon Session that is activities oriented, but again academics are integrated to make it interesting. The curriculum is carefully prepared to include activities that enable the children to learn even as they play and to cultivate the love of learning in a co-operative atmosphere. It is important that they feel safe and comfortable and gain self-esteem and independence.
In the afternoon the children undergo our pioneering concept of OVERALL GROWTH CENTER (OGC) where the children are taught rhythm, dance, skating, Sanskrit, Chess etc. in a unique manner. Thus, the morning session is broadly Left Brain oriented, but Right Brain is included through Play Way method. And the afternoon session is broadly Right Brain oriented, but Left Brain is included through academics.
Concrete to Abstract
When academics are taught, the basic principle followed is to go from concrete to abstract. The children are normally first taken for a field trip where they get day to day experiences. Then for 2 weeks they are taught same topic through rhymes, music, art, stories etc. which makes them understand each topic in depth as well as remember it for life. The children are taught 16 topics in a year where 8 are on nature and 8 are on real life encounters. Over a period of four years the child comes to know 64 topics.
Mind Map technique
Organizing thinking and representing it on one page.
Whole topic is created as pictures and presented on a single page.
Then these pictures are interconnected.
This becomes a permanent memory for the child.
This also helps the parents to easily get acquainted with what is taught to the child.
English is used as the main language. It is taught in the sequence of hearing, speaking, reading and then writing. Thus writing is introduced only in Pre- Primary.
Lots of Interaction happens.
Field trip talk, House talk, General talk is given a lot of importance.
Picture talk is very important
Speaking:The children hear the teacher speaking in English thereby the children learn English very easily. They are also
given lots of time to speak among themselves.
English - Reading
Reading: children are first introduced to a topic.
They are then introduced to the words related to the topic through games like "fire in the mountain" etc.
Words are shown in the P.T. class, music class etc.
Then by the end of the 1st week a book is made with photographs of the children at the field trip and this becomes a reading programs for them
Therefore the children don't learn through the traditional methods like A,B,C,D. Phonetics is introduced after children have learnt hundreds of words.

This is the basic difference between PVS and conventional schools.

Maths is also taught through topics. Example – Post office. The children learn to count how many letters are posted, how many stamps are collected etc. Even addition, subtraction etc. can also be taught easily through such methods. It is also taught through the Montessori Method in the Pre- Primary & the Montero method in the Primary.
Environmental Science
This is also developed on similar lines through topics. First the Experience, then the Explanation. Keeping the maxims in mind : Concrete to Abstract, Known to Unknown, Near to Far, Whole to Part.
Total Freedom to Express themselves
Total Freedom to Mix Colors
No stereotyping child by coloring drawing within boundaries
Just remember and draw
In Music, one raga is taught for a month. A CD is given to the parents so that they can play the same at home. 6 Ragas
in 1 year and 24 Ragas are covered in 4 years. There are 3 different levels of the same raga as the child grows (Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary).
Thus by the end of 10th Standard, the child would have mastered 24 ragas which is a Masters Degree in Music. He would
also be exposed to many more ragas for knowledge.
